Gosh, that last entry sounded cold. Don't worry, there's nothing so bad happening in my life right now that I can't talk about it. Many many good things are happening lately. The thing most wrong with my life is English 101. I can't bitch enough about that class. So, to spare you all, I won't bitch at all here. It might be the reason I'm so reluctant to write lately, though.
So, just for the sake of catch-up, I'll give a summary of what's been happening to me lately.
Important dates:
January 28th: Michelle, Candice, and Luan surprise visit me! The funny and ironic thing was that I got locked out somewhere before 2, and rather than wait 10 to 15 minutes for the front desk to open so I could check out a lock-out key, I walked all the way to Ridgeway to my boyfriend's dorm to kill some time. Allie arrived here at around 2, my friends showed up at around 2:30. I didn't leave Alan's dorm until somewhere around 6, to go eat food. As I walked back to Mathes, I heard someone behind me talking about Poland--something that'll usually get my attention! Did I turn around? No... not until I got into the lobby that I turned and there they were!! They stayed until 8, and it was good times all around. I sure miss them!
January 29th: I finally get to know what downtown B'ham looks like in the day time! Alan and I took a little field trip down there; the main purpose was to show me where the chocolate shop resides... it's never gonna be safe again! As long as I've got financial means!! And then we went to the mall to shop around a bit. Good stuff.
February 4th: After over a month of dating, Alan and I finally go on an official date! We went to Olive Garden--a bus ride plus a 20 minute walk. What an adventure... oh well, we were so glad we got to eat REAL food that night! Mmmmmm... and we had left-overs for the next day, so we had a little picnic in his dorm.
February 9th: Our floor decided to celebrate floor days--since this is the second (2) month, and we are the second (2) floor, every day that passes until the 18th is a floor day. For example, on February 1st (2/01) it was 201 day. On those days the doors are decorated all pretty-like, and there is a sign of butcher paper next to the door for the rest of the residents to write nice notes to the girls of the day. So, 209 is my room, ergo it was my day! To celebrate, I went out to the mall to Victoria's Secret! Not only do I have five more pairs of nice panties, but I finally got my hands on a black bra! Hooray!! Oh, and of course Alan accompanied me... ;)
February 11th: Alan and I got together with our friends Kit, Jen (those two are roommates) and Ryan and watched some Mulan 2 (another cheaply made straight to video sequel), which was actually somewhat entertaining, and Dead Poet's Society, which was as inspirational as it has ever been. Afterwards we played that anger/violence inducing game, Squeak. I, amazingly, remained mostly calm during that. Can't say the same for Alan... I decided that he needs to take Prozac before he plays that game. Poor guy. But in all, it was a very good time.
So now it's February 13th. I've got another essay to write. (insert curses and colorful metaphors here) But I will NOT let it consume my life! No no no no no! (For those of you who were in Drama: "House? HOUSE? Who pays the rent?!..." and so on. Ah, memories...)
There. Now I don't feel so much like a jerk for leaving y'all in the dark. However, I still encourage you all to talk to me directly if you want details on what's going on with me. And I still care about what happens to y'all out there! (Please excuse the texas dialect)
